Sustainability Zone

Feddy Akello is an innovator dedicated to addressing poor menstrual hygiene and the environmental harm caused by disposable pads. She is developing a solution that teaches girls in primary and secondary schools how to make reusable sanitary pads, while also providing education on menstrual health and pain management. By focusing on this work, she aims to reduce plastic waste, improve girls’ well-being, and create income opportunities through pad-making skills. This mission is deeply personal to her because of her own experiences and the challenges she has witnessed among girls in her community. With determination and vision, Feddy is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
