Affordable & Clean Energy

Godfrey Akol, founder of LoKa-Ventures (Uganda), has identified a pressing need to address the lack of access to clean cooking energy a gap that continues to fuel deforestation, energy poverty, and serious health risks in rural communities. To respond to this challenge, Godfrey established LoKa-Ventures, a youth-led social enterprise focused on delivering practical, sustainable solutions. Using local resources and community knowledge, he designed an innovative model that transforms organic waste into clean biogas for cooking and nutrient-rich biofertilizer for farming. This circular approach is not just a solution it is a path forward. LoKa-Ventures is working to ensure that undeserved communities, especially youth and women, gain access to affordable energy, eco-friendly farming inputs, and green entrepreneurship training. The goal is clear: a Uganda where rural households no longer depend on wood, but thrive using clean energy, fertile soils, and climate-smart livelihoods powered by waste.
