Sustainability Zone
Ammar Abdullah is an innovator dedicated to addressing wastewater pollution from molasses-based distilleries. He is developing a cost-effective effluent treatment plant that recovers resources while reducing chemical oxygen demand and water pollution. By focusing on this work, he aims to safeguard freshwater sources, recover nutrients, and support environmental health. This mission is deeply personal to him, as he experienced firsthand the dangers of polluted water while working in a distillery, where unsafe water even caused severe skin and health issues. With determination and vision, Ammar is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
