WINNFRIDAHOPE MGALEGA

Winnfridahope George Mgalega is an innovator dedicated to addressing deforestation in Tanzania, where over 400,000 hectares of forest are lost annually to agriculture, charcoal production, and illegal logging. She is developing a solution that integrates tree planting into tourism experiences, “rooting while routing.” By focusing on this work, she aims to create jobs for local tour guides while restoring forests and protecting biodiversity. This work is deeply personal to her because, as a host in the hospitality industry, she knows a healthy environment is vital for tourism to thrive. With determination and vision, Winnfridahope is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
