Location

Sustainability Zone

Mary Raphael Kopwe is an innovator dedicated to addressing waste management caused by excessive fruit waste in local markets and among street vendors. She is developing a solution that collects discarded or rotten fruit and transforms it into valuable products through circular economy principles. By focusing on this work, she aims to reduce fruit waste in Dar es Salaam while creating new income streams for street vendors and local fruit sellers. This work is deeply personal to her because, with her passion for beauty and value addition, she sees waste as an opportunity for responsible sourcing of raw materials for organic cosmetics production. With determination and vision, Mary is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
