Sefania Joel Kyando

Sefania Joel Kyando is an innovator dedicated to addressing human-elephant conflicts in villages adjacent to Saadani National Park in Tanzania, where crop destruction, property loss, and risks to human life occur. He is developing a solution that promotes community awareness, proactive deterrent measures such as installing beehives, and training in agroecology practices like agroforestry. By focusing on this work, he aims to reduce conflicts, protect both humans and elephants, improve community livelihoods, and ensure ecosystem sustainability through conservation. This work is deeply personal to him because it directly affects his local community and environment, and solving it strengthens his ability to tackle big challenges while conserving nature. With determination and vision, Sefania is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
