Nadine Kilala
Nadine Kilala is an innovator dedicated to addressing the intertwined burdens of poverty, climate change, and low literacy in Tanzania, where children who fail to read by Grade 4 rarely catch up. She is developing a solution that creates, publishes, and distributes climate-focused books for children along with resource packs for teachers to integrate comprehension and climate literacy into lessons. By focusing on this work, she aims to inspire climate awareness through storytelling and play while improving reading comprehension among learners aged 4 to 10. This work is deeply personal to her because she believes contextual stories are powerful tools for both education and climate justice. With determination and vision, Nadine is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
