Wellington Gombarume

Wellington Gombarume is an innovator dedicated to addressing the exclusion of Zimbabwe’s smallholder farmers from carbon markets due to high costs, verification complexity, and regulatory barriers. He is developing a solution that integrates IoT sensors, satellite imagery, and drones to reduce verification costs and ensure credit integrity. By focusing on this work, he aims to connect smallholder farmers to global carbon markets, build climate resilience, and improve livelihoods. This work is deeply personal to him because he comes from a region devastated by natural disasters like Cyclone Idai, which fuels his commitment to building resilient solutions. With determination and vision, Wellington is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
