Sarrah Zohair Ali

Sustainability Zone

Sarrah Zohair Ali is an innovator dedicated to addressing the use of Styrofoam trays and plastic-lined cartons in schools by replacing them with reusable serviceware. She is developing a solution that secures grants, develops service models, and optimizes washing systems so schools only need to approve the transition. By focusing on this work, she aims to eliminate costly, harmful Styrofoam while reducing financial and health burdens for schools and communities. This work is deeply personal to her because she ate from these trays for 12 years and believes her health may have been affected by styrene exposure. Her family and community remain at risk, motivating her to act. With determination and vision, Sarrah is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
