Aya Ahmed is an innovator dedicated to addressing extreme urban heat in low-income neighborhoods of Philadelphia and the global challenge of plastic packaging waste. She is developing two solutions: a community-led greening initiative to cool overheated neighborhoods, and ReLeaf Wrap, a compostable packaging alternative designed for year-round use. By focusing on this work, she aims to reduce heat stress, create green jobs, and cut plastic pollution while supporting composting and circular economies. This mission is deeply personal to her, as she is passionate about environmental justice and climate resilience, believing that community-driven innovation can create lasting impact. With determination and vision, Aya is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
