Waste Management

Jiye Bae, hailing from South Korea, is a visionary with a planet-positive mission. Her innovative idea tackles the harmful impacts of the ultra-fast fashion cycle, such as carbon footprints, waste landfills, and water pollution. Additionally, she addresses the pressing issue of senior poverty and isolation in her home country. Jiye's solution involves repurposing discarded clothing into versatile patchwork fabric and low-emission non-woven materials using the traditional 'Jogakbo' artistry, while also creating employment opportunities for financially struggling seniors.

With a background in business and fashion design, Jiye is uniquely positioned to drive sustainability and community well-being. Her project aims to reduce waste, lower emissions, and engage the community in sustainable practices. By merging her expertise and passion, Jiye strives to bring about positive change in her local community and beyond, fostering inclusivity and raising awareness of eco-friendly solutions on a global scale.
