Tanush Premkumar

Tanush Prem is the founder of Mushloop, a biology-derived industrial materials platform building pigments, authentication inks, and functional coatings from fungal fermentation. Founded June 2023, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. Tanush’s journey began in mechanical engineering and supply chain management, but he transitioned into biotechnology without formal training, driven by deep curiosity and a strong desire to build impactful solutions. He taught himself microbiology, built a proof of concept from scratch, and received support from institutions like the Indian Institute of Science, Stanford Seed Spark, and beVisioneers. Mushloop has since evolved from an idea into a science-driven startup recognized for innovation and impact. Throughout his journey, Tanush has been invited to speak at universities, incubators, and international programs, and he continues working toward a regenerative, circular future through fungi-powered innovation.
