Sin Ue Lau is an innovator dedicated to addressing ocean pollution caused by single-use plastics such as styrofoam, fishnets, and packaging. She is developing alternatives made from seaweed, mycelium, and fruit residues that are reusable or naturally degradable. By focusing on this work, she aims to stop plastic from entering the ocean and restore healthy marine ecosystems for local communities. This mission is deeply personal to her, as she is passionate about protecting the ocean and has seen city waste wash up on nearby beaches, damaging ecosystems and ultimately harming human health. With determination and vision, Sin is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
