Naome Faith Awuor

Location
Kenya
Sustainability Zone

Faith Naome Awuor is an innovator dedicated to addressing floods in Nyando that destroy homes, displace families, and spread contaminated water, causing deadly diseases. With no early alerts or safe shelters, lives are lost every rainy season. She is developing a solution that uses sensor balls to detect rising and contaminated water early, combined with solar hubs for safe shelter, clean water, and floating farms, protecting lives and boosting resilience. By focusing on this work, she aims to prevent waterborne diseases, provide safe solar hubs for shelter and clean water, and scale protection for flood-prone areas across regions. This work is deeply personal to her because she grew up in Nyando, where rain meant fear. She watched friends die, homes vanish, and sickness spread. That pain drives her to build hope, safety, and dignity for her community. With determination and vision, Faith is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
