Annrose Maina

Annrose Maina, a dedicated environmental advocate from Kenya, is on a mission to tackle the pressing issue of poor solid waste management in Nairobi West. Witnessing firsthand the detrimental effects of informal enterprises lacking proper waste disposal infrastructure, such as bins, leading to rampant roadside dumping, Annrose is determined to make a difference. The high pollution levels resulting from the accumulation of both organic and inorganic waste have spurred her into action.

With a vision to implement the circular economy strategy for waste management, Annrose aims to establish a Material Recovery Facility, a decomposing facility for fertilizers, and reprocessing industries. By reintegrating waste into the economy, she envisions a cleaner and healthier environment for the community. Passionate about enhancing the condition of her surroundings, Annrose is committed to creating a positive impact on community health and the environment. Her efforts will not only improve the physical outlook of the area but also contribute to economic growth through sustainable waste management practices.
