Andrea Aguirre De las Casas

Andrea De las Casas Aguirre, originally from northern Mexico, is a passionate biologist currently living in Ciudad Juárez. Andrea grew up dreaming of becoming a biologist and has seen up close the challenges scientists and local leaders face to keep their work going when information and resources are scarce.

Through her initiative, LIVELULA, she’s focused on bridging these gaps by using satellite data, participatory mapping, and community-centered technology to support on-the-ground restoration and conservation. Through this, Livelula is building an online space where scientists and local communities can connect with the data, tools, and people they need to thrive.

She is also currently working as a freelance language tutor, her main interests include traveling, nature conservation, cultural exchange and Mexican food.
