Ruben Alcántar Rivera

Location
Mexico

Ruben Alcantar Rivera is an innovator dedicated to addressing the environmental impact of highway travel, which generates massive waste and emissions while offering little climate education. He is developing Eco Stop Points—sustainable rest areas powered by solar energy, equipped with water recycling and zero-waste systems, and designed to educate travelers about sustainability. By focusing on this work, he aims to reduce roadside pollution, conserve water, cut emissions, and inspire eco-conscious behavior across Mexico and Latin America’s highways. This mission is deeply personal to him, as he sees highway pollution every day and believes travel should protect and educate, not harm. With determination and vision, Ruben is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
