Sulata Dhakal

Sustainability Zone

Sulata Dhakal, a dedicated structural engineering graduate student based in Finland, is on a mission to tackle the pressing issue of global carbon emissions originating from the built environment. With over 75% of the infrastructure for 2050 yet to be constructed, Sulata recognizes the urgency of addressing the 39% of carbon emissions attributed to the construction industry. Through her advocacy for sustainable practices like using low-carbon cement and implementing energy-efficient improvements, Sulata aims to educate and empower individuals to track, calculate, and reduce their buildings' carbon footprints.

Driven by a deep commitment to environmental sustainability, Sulata believes that promoting eco-friendly construction practices is essential for creating a sustainable future. By raising awareness and encouraging sustainable decisions, she envisions building environmentally conscious communities and contributing to global climate change mitigation efforts. Sulata's passion for addressing the intersection of construction and climate change underscores her dedication to making a positive impact on the world.
