Bibaelee Binius

Location

Sustainability Zone

Bibaelee Binius is an innovator dedicated to addressing river pollution caused by agricultural runoff that contaminates water sources, harms biodiversity, and threatens rural communities in Sabah. He is developing a solution called ReChar, a biochar made from river debris and microbes, which filters and breaks down harmful chemicals directly in the river before they reach water systems. By focusing on this work, he aims to create cleaner rivers that provide safer water, restore ecosystems, and improve livelihoods for farmers, fishers, and families who depend on them. This work is deeply personal to him because he grew up in a village where rivers were lifelines, and seeing them polluted pushed him to create a solution that protects water, culture, and community health. With determination and vision, Bibaelee is paving the way for sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
