Sofie Brøgger
Sofie Brøgger, based in the United Kingdom, is a passionate advocate for transforming the global industrial agri-food system towards sustainability and regeneration. With a deep understanding of the urgent need to address soil depletion, biodiversity loss, greenhouse gas emissions, and malnourishment, Sofie is dedicated to creating a new food system that nourishes people, restores soils, stores carbon, enhances biodiversity, and empowers local communities.
Through her project, Sofie works to support local growers in adopting regenerative farming practices and increase the availability of local, nutritious, and sustainable foods. Grounded in community-supported agriculture (CSA), her initiative establishes a direct supply chain connecting producers and consumers to regenerative produce. Drawing from her upbringing in a farming community, Sofie combines her passion for sustainability with her rural roots to foster conversations about food systems transformation and climate change adaptation through the lens of food.
Sofie's project promotes agroecology as a solution that not only improves public health and economic stability for farmers but also contributes to carbon sequestration, enhanced biodiversity, reduced surface runoff, flood prevention, and the mitigation of agricultural pollution in water bodies. With a vision for a more resilient and interconnected food system, Sofie Brøgger is driving positive change towards a sustainable future.
