Shradha Pandey
Shradha Pandey, a passionate advocate for sustainable energy solutions in rural India, is leading the charge for change through the Grassroots Energy Management Support (GEMS) project. In many rural homes across India, open-pit stoves are the primary source of cooking, emitting toxic smoke indoors and outdoors. Recognizing the urgent need for a shift towards cleaner energy sources, Shradha is dedicated to implementing inclusive energy transition strategies that benefit both the environment and the community.
Through GEMS, Shradha is spearheading the adoption of Low-Smoke Cooking Stoves (LSCS) to replace traditional, polluting cooking methods. By reducing pollution and improving the efficiency of cooking practices, this initiative not only enhances the health and well-being of women and girls but also creates opportunities for new income-generating activities. Shradha's vision is to ultimately replace non-renewable energy sources with sustainable alternatives, promoting a healthier and more environmentally conscious way of life in rural India.
