Lucy Kgware is a passionate environmental advocate and social entrepreneur from South Africa, committed to tackling youth unemployment and environmental neglect in rural communities through Community-based Tourism. Through her program, Redefining Travel, she is integrating technology to drive sustainable tourism, skills development, and environmental action. The platform connects tourists to real experiences happening in rural areas, like cultural tours, craft workshops, storytelling nights, cooking classes, agricultural learning, and community clean-ups. At the same time, it trains and equips local youth with skills in tourism, digital tools, and waste management, creating jobs and empowering communities to take the lead in preserving their culture and environment.
