Lucy Kgware
Lucy Kgware is a dedicated advocate from South Africa, focusing on economic and environmental issues impacting rural communities. With a keen interest in addressing high youth unemployment, lack of female empowerment, over-reliance on agriculture, environmental degradation, inadequate infrastructure, and cultural erosion due to urban migration, Lucy is committed to implementing community-based tourism (CBT) as a solution. Through this project, she aims to provide youth employment opportunities, diversify economic activities, mitigate agricultural risks from climate change, and promote environmental conservation and cultural preservation.
Lucy's passion for this cause stems from her belief in creating sustainable livelihoods, empowering youth, and preserving local heritage and natural resources in rural South Africa. By addressing unemployment, economic instability, and environmental and cultural degradation, she envisions a brighter future for these communities. Through CBT, Lucy seeks to benefit the local community by creating jobs, enhancing socio-economic status, improving infrastructure, and promoting cultural preservation and environmental conservation. Tourists engaging in this initiative will gain authentic insights into local lives and contribute to sustainable development. Lucy Kgware is a driving force for positive change in South Africa's rural areas.
