Henri Chikuru

Henri Chikuru is a filmmaker and social entrepreneur based in Uganda. His work combines storytelling, technology, and regenerative tourism to support local communities and contribute to conservation efforts. In 2023, while volunteering in Karamoja, he witnessed how disconnected tourism can often be from the people it affects — an experience that left a lasting impression. In 2024, Henri joined the beVisioneers Fellowship, where he was able to reframe his project ideas, build and test prototypes, and grow as an innovator. Later that year, he officially launched Safirio, a regenerative tourism enterprise now operating in Uganda. Safirio serves as a bridge between conscious travelers, cultural heritage, and environmental conservation. Together with local communities, Henri and his team use advanced technologies and environmental data to co-create travel experiences that restore ecosystems, empower people, and share stories that matter.
