Ecosystems & Global Environmental Commons

Gonzalo Bautista, hailing from Mexico, is a passionate advocate for environmental change and social justice. Witnessing the transformation of traditional agriculture due to unjust production systems and land management policies, Gonzalo founded Crecemos Juntos with a vision to combat income inequality and drive ecosystemic change in Central Mexico. With a focus on agroecological practices and climate democracy advocacy, Gonzalo aims to empower small rural communities to navigate the challenges of climate migration and economic instability.

Having grown up surrounded by disappearing forests and fields of crops, Gonzalo's childhood experiences shaped his commitment to communal land stewardship and sustainable practices. Through Crecemos Juntos, Gonzalo works towards building infrastructure, enhancing sustainability, and fostering community participation in governance and environmental justice. By sharing resources, influencing public policy, and cultivating sustainable wealth, Gonzalo and his team are weaving a coalition of local connections to create a replicable model for regeneration and resilience.
