Fatimata Cham, based in the United States, is a passionate advocate addressing the lack of visibility surrounding the impact of climate change on Black, Brown, and Indigenous women. Through her project, she aims to educate and raise awareness by sharing their stories. Growing up in a low-income community deeply affected by climate change, Fatimata experienced firsthand the lack of representation and care for communities like hers. This drove her to create a platform that highlights the voices and experiences of those most affected by the climate crisis. By centering the narratives of marginalized communities, Fatimata's project not only benefits her local community but also fosters a greater understanding of the interconnectedness of these stories on a global scale. Through education and storytelling, she is working to bring about meaningful change and amplify the voices that have long been overlooked.
