Elena Mishina is a passionate researcher from Hungary dedicated to addressing the global water crisis. With a deep concern for the increasing scarcity of clean water worldwide, Elena is driven to develop innovative solutions to combat waterborne diseases and contamination. Her goal is to create a lateral flow immunoassay testing system for the rapid detection of E. coli, V. cholerae, and Shigella bacteria in water sources, ultimately providing a lifeline for communities lacking access to safe drinking water.

Having witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of pollution on her local lake, Elena's childhood experiences have fueled her commitment to water management and disease prevention. Her research focuses on measuring the spread of waterborne diseases in her community and developing new diagnostic tools to mitigate their effects. Elena's ultimate vision is to contribute to a world where everyone has access to clean and safe drinking water, free from the threat of waterborne illnesses.
