Responsible Consumption & Production

Sristi Bose, the visionary founder of Ecosantation in India, is on a mission to revolutionize the menstrual hygiene industry. Recognizing the urgent need to address the environmental impact of traditional sanitary napkins containing 12% PE polythene, which can take 600-800 years to decompose, Sristi is leading the charge towards a sustainable future. Ecosantation aims to replace these harmful napkins with innovative beeswax-coated hemp fiber alternatives. By utilizing hemp, a versatile and eco-friendly material, coated with beeswax for waterproofing, Ecosantation offers a biodegradable solution that can be recycled for further production. With a focus on reducing the environmental hazards caused by the increasing disposal of non-degradable napkins, Sristi's initiative targets the 455 million women in India who use sanitary napkins, aiming to reach 245 million within 5 years. Through Ecosantation, Sristi Bose is not just providing a practical alternative for women's health but also paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
